HOW CAN I USE THESE REFLECTION STORY CARDS?
Download these PDF print quality cards then print out and use in your team meetings, mat activities with children or just on your own to help you get started with reflection visually!
USE THE CARDS WITH OLDER CHILDREN – To help make their thinking more visible while at the same time promoting and embedding deeper learning! Use their reflections and voices to inform your program and forward planning.
They are a great way to invite thinking and work very well for those children that might be a little shy about expressing their thoughts or participating in a larger group in front of everyone. The cards give children a simple one-word prompt on each, for example, See, Think, Wonder. Now they can begin creating their story together by asking questions, listening to others and looking around them. They are thinking about their ‘thinking’!
EASILY MODIFY for different age groups and staff skill levels based on the prompts and question cards you choose to use.
USE THE CARDS AS AN EDUCATOR OR LEADER – The idea of these reflection cards to help you as an educator to look past the obvious answers and dive a little deeper by creating a simple 3 step story. Use them in team meetings, mentor sessions, to help guide critical reflection or just as a tool to prompt regular reflection in different areas. Use as individuals or collaborate together as a group to tell the story from different perspectives.
