Yesterday i received a lovely visit from an older couple who have a house that adjoins our property. They grow and raise seedlings, fruit and veg to sell at our local markets……we are happy to let them use some of our acreage to do this as we aren’t using it at the moment and it is nice to see the land being used for something so productive. They are always so appreciative even though it is no trouble for us and we are happy to do it. They came bearing gifts of home brewed ginger beer (with the warning to stand back when we open…just in case!), a huge bunch of healthy silverbeet (which left me wondering why mine doesn’t look as good grown on the same land lol)and the biggest boiled Christmas pud i have ever seen!
Sorry about the photo quality…was in a hurry…..but i wanted to share such Christmas Spirit with you and reflect upon the fact that it is still out there! I have struggled a little to get into the spirit this year but acts of generosity like this really do warm the soul! This act of giving from the heart is really what it is all about.
I have also found myself getting a little excited (finally) in the last few days as we have had my Mum visiting from Brisbane QLD which is around a 3 hours drive from us…she had to leave today so we had a mini Christmas to celebrate with the girls and seeing how they have interacted with Mum in the last few days has been lovely…..but they aren’t babies anymore….they really are growing into little girls now. I think they are going to enjoy Christmas morning…..mainly because they love cardboard and paper!
