Peppa Pig Friendship Month and a Peppa Pack Giveaway!

by The Empowered Educator 5 Comments

Do you have any Peppa pig fans at your house? I have twin 3 yr olds that absolutely love her and just quietly it's one of the few shows that I actually don't mind sitting down and watching with them. That theme song does tend to enter my dreams at night sometimes though which is obviously quite unfortunate 😉
Peppa is a lovable, cheeky little piggy who lives with her younger brother George, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig.Peppa loves playing games, dressing up, visiting exciting places and making new friends, but her absolute favourite thing is jumping up and down in muddy puddles. Her adventures always end happily with loud snorts of laughter.
Regular readers will know I love to get my girls outdoors having fun and getting messy and sometimes I'd really rather not do the jumping in messy puddles thing…especially just before we head out to the shops (which is pretty much our only outing lately so I try to sort of seem presentable as a family) but seriously, who can argue with a 3 year old quoting Peppa Pig who “loves the muddy puddles Mummy!”?
I'm actually quite partial to Daddy pig and his bumbling parenting methods….I feel a real connection there some days…especially when it's playing during witching hour at 5pm and I have hungry grumpy kids to deal with. Bless him, he's a little bit silly but I do appreciate a show that makes the effort to get the parents who might be watching enjoying a laugh too!
Everywhere I look around our house you can see someone from the Peppa Pig family staring back at you….it might be a jumper, soft toy, colouring book, backpack, book or DVD but I know she is always there! This is from a family that doesn't actually encourage a lot of TV and especially not the merchandising that tends to go with children's TV shows! I guess we are all allowed to have our little crushes, I mean weak moments for the children in our lives….

I am so excited to be taking my girls to see the Peppa Pig Live Show coming to town soon! After a smash hit season on London’s West End and at capital city theatres around Australia, this delightful puppet show is embarking on an extensive tour of Australia in 2014. It's not often we get shows like this in my regional town so I may possibly be more excited than the girls at the prospect of dressing up and getting out of the house…even if it is during the day!

All this month Peppa is celebrating ‘Friendship Month' and you too can enjoy your own Peppa Pig adventure this May. Simply visit any ABC store this May to ‘find Peppa and her friends’. Collect an entry form from the till point and write down the name of the characters that you find. Once you have completed the hunt, hand your completed entry form to the counter to be entered into the competition and receive a Peppa Pig giveaway!

I also love daddy pig. He seems to be an optimistic dad , willing to laugh at himself when he makes a mistake.

My little girl is a big fan of Peppa pig and I am not ashamed to admit I have become one too. 🙂 My favourite character has to be little Suzy Sheep because she is so ladylike and makes such a great friend to Peppa. Every one needs a Suzy Sheep in their lives.
