Bushrocks,Boots & Kid’s Co-Op Fun

by The Empowered Educator 11 Comments

We’ve had some fun practising our balancing skills this week using items from around the home. I would have to say this outdoor activity has been the favourite though……

Bushrock Plank Walk………….

Simply a sturdy thick plank propped onto one of the many bushrocks we have poking out of the ground across the paddock……..i moved the plank to a few different sized rocks to alter the balance and skill required but this is where we started (before i abandoned the camera and joined in!)

Doesn’t look like much of an incline but there actually is! Look at the concentration!
Looking for that sneaky edge……..
And JUMP! Can you tell we have reached the toddler picks her favourite clothes and shoes out stage? These blue boots picked up at a thrift store are going EVERYWHERE at the moment!!!

Ruby particularly enjoyed the climbing on and off the end onto the rock part of the game.

Easy, basic fun…..but sometimes they are the best activities for a busy toddler exploring their world!

Hard to believe but it’s already time for the Kid’s Co-Op Linky Party again! There were so many wonderful blogs and activities to explore from last week’s party that i got way too distracted…but very inspired!

I really enjoyed these different ideas for Plastic egg fun from No Twiddle Twaddle . I’m not indulging in too many Easter crafts with the toddler twosome but i really loved some of these easy ideas! I also pinned it to a number of my pinterest boards and it proved a popular pin so i encourage you to go and check them out!

I was also inspired to make some of our own blocks next week with the toddler twosome after reading this post from Bright Starts of CNY . I love finding frugal ideas for toys and fun and this ticks all the boxes….cheap, easy and fun for younger toddlers as well as older children!

Time now to link up for this week….I can’t wait to see what gems i discover this time! Please link any play, activity or craft post from toddlers to teens and enjoy visiting other fellow bloggers for inspiration! You can also visit the new Kid’s Co-Op Facebook page to look through an album featuring all of the participating Kid’s Co-Op hosts’ own blogs….and who knows…perhaps you could be featured on one or more of them next week!!!

Have fun linking up and enjoy your weekend!!

That balance board does look fun – will have to remember that when my little one gets at that stage. She’s crawling now, Jode! You told me a few weeks back, “look out, mama!” oh boy, you were right ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Happy weekend,
    Jaime

Kaizer has more fun walking around the little brick enclosure at the park than the actual playground…I’ll have to source some items from the garage to make him a plank at home ๐Ÿ™‚

We have fun balancing on planks of wood too. I like the idea of giving it an incline to add more challenge. Awesome! Thank you for linking up to The Outdoor Play Party.
