No mess paint fun..

by The Empowered Educator 7 Comments

It's been raining most of this week unfortunately so we have had to come up with some indoor activities….one of the favourites was ziplock bag painting…..one of my favs too as it doessn't make mess inside!

It's a great activity for the fine motor skills and a good sensory activity for Ruby. The toddler twosome didn't quite understand at first why they weren't getting paint all over the table as is usual when they fingerpaint…but soon got over that and seemed to enjoy making fingerprints and patterns through the bag! I think Miss Teen who had just got home from school was having the most fun though so obviously a winner with all ages!

Such an easy activity but it does pay to have it set up ready to go.  I stick the bags down with tape but you don't need to do this for older ones unless you are worried the seal may let go! You can also add a sheet of paper inside the bag and then sqeeze the paint on if you want a print afterwards but really i find it easier without!

But how do i get messy?
I'll do this side…you get that side!
Such squishy goodness requires two hands….unfortunately the tape let go on this one!
They really enjoyed making finger tracks and mixing colours together
Aren't we clever…and 3 bags on the go meant no fighting….not that toddlers ever fight…hmmmm

At the other end of the spectrum we ventured out into the pouring rain this morning to attend Miss Teen's YR10 school certificate grad ceremony. Very proud of her…she has done exceptionally well at school this year and their class was the end of an era as it is the last year that the Yr10 school certificate will exist in NSW. Now she moves into her senior years of schooling…..goodness, how did that happen? Someone slow down the clock please!

Miss Teen in the middle

Life goes in many directions doesn't it…we can't always predict the pathway ahead and we often head in different directions  but i'm glad to be travelling my pathway with these special people!

Thanks for stopping by…..

I’ve seen a couple bags like this, but never with paint. What a super fun idea!

This really looks like fun! I love the idea of paint contained in bags.
