It seemed to be such a busy week last week and yet i am not sure we actually achieved much!! We are enjoying the days warming up and being able to get outside a little more now…..and there was mess, fun and laughter and i guess that's more important than the spring cleaning and vegie garden weeding i had planned to do!
Our Pallet Gardens are growing well and the toddler twosome are enjoying helping me water and pick the lettuce and rocket…they even have a taste or two but i don't think they are entirely hooked just yet!
The parrots have been watching us closely and nesting in the trees close to the house…Spring is definitely here!
The toddler twosome have had fun playing with some ‘new' toys from the council toy library…they have loved using this little clothesline and hanging out the nappy liners and small things while i hang clothes on the big line….a little help needed with the pegging but never too young to hang out your own nappy liners i say!
The drums have been very popular too…so glad they had 2 of them! We are beginning to do a lot more music and dancing activities lately and i hope to share a few posts with you soon…..very simple ideas but lots of fun for toddlers!
We've enjoyed spending more time with Miss Teen as she is home in between exams….this day they discovered the joy of stickers!
Don't you just love the absolute joy here? I enjoy watching how differently they play with their big sis …they absolutely adore her!
‘My sticker!' And no one was arguing trust me!
This activity was my favourite of the week…all 3 girls together in the spring sunshine and lots of giggles!
I was cleaning out the pantry and Miss Teen had the idea of a little cooking and dough making session! I knew this was going to be messy……
We had a little flour, some seed mix, oats and sugar and i added a bucket of water, our favourite metal bowls, some spoons and measuring cups and jugs! I also threw in some recycled foil trays for cake making!
All 3 had great fun mixing, pouring and pressing into the tin trays…..you're never too old to make a mess and have fun!
It was interesting to see how each girl mixed their own bowl….Ruby added lots of things quickly and liked pouring water in so she could mix…..Miss teen made a sticky dough to roll around and Tara took her time adding little bits here and there until she was happy with the consistency to press into trays. By having a few different textured materials they could really explore in different ways…..
Miss Teen then decided it would be fun to make some face masks……i think she may have asked me not to use this photo…….maybe….my poor Mummy brain isn't what it used to be….
I loved watching Tara and Big sis giving each other a ‘facial' They had a great time!
Then Tara decided it was Mummy's turn so i thought best to make a hasty retreat!
Miss Australia one day right there folks!
Even the dog was wondering what they were doing!
A little wash off in the bucket……
And the aftermath for Mummy to clean up…..was worth it to see all that sisterly love and fun though!
We've also been doing a LOT of swinging in the past week….in our own unique and individual ways!
And my weekend sewing project of these 2 little dresses wasn't completed after the toddler twosome saw them and ‘insisted' upon wearing them….they are cute but one day i would like to finish sewing them!!!
Nothing like a nice cup of ‘tea' to finish off your mornings play!
We also had some fun with Bouncy Ball Painting……
and some sensory exploration with our Salt Tray & DIY Squeeze Bottles
I hope your week was fun…even if it wasn't as messy as ours….what is the one thing you really want to get done this week?

You have parrots?? Wow! We have these power lines that we pass on the way to school that have these huge nests in them. A friend told me they were parrots but I have never seen any birds in them at all. But they’ve been there forever so birds must be using them or they would be long gone by now. We’ve had some interesting critters here and there but definitely not parrots, at least not that I’ve seen! I thought they were tropical!

We actually have quite alot of different sort of parrots here….the girls love to watch them although they can be awfully screechy late afternoon and early morning!!

Love all your pictures! It is sure fun to play outside! Kids really love playing outside! I read a blog at http://aeioumommy.com where the Mom also lets her 6 month-old baby play outside. A very good way to interact with the environment! I can’t wait to read more from you ๐
